Overview
The Dyson V16 Piston Animal cordless vacuum cleaner is designed for dry cleaning carpets, hard floors and everyday pet hair. The Matte Black/Copper model combines the All Floor Cones™ Sense cleaner head with a dust-compressing CleanCompaktor™ bin, plus a Hair screw tool 2.0 for smaller surfaces around the home.

- Up to 315 Air Watts of suction: Suction measured at the inlet in Boost mode, to IEC 62885-4:2023, section 5.11.
- Floor-sensing cleaner head: In Auto mode, the All Floor Cones™ Sense cleaner head adjusts suction and brush speed for different floor types. Illumination helps reveal fine dust on hard floors.
- Anti-tangle cleaning: Two conical brush bars direct hair towards the bin. Dyson tests detangling with hair up to 60cm in Boost mode.
- CleanCompaktor™ bin: Compress collected dust and debris before emptying. The wipe-clean emptying mechanism helps clear the bin; real-life performance varies.
- Up to 70 minutes of runtime: Tested in Eco mode on hard floors to IEC 62885-4:2020, clause 5.101. Actual runtime depends on usage, power mode, tool and floor type.
- Hair screw tool 2.0: A motorised conical brush bar removes hair from pet beds, stairs and upholstered surfaces.
- HEPA filtration and LCD feedback: The sealed filtration system captures fine particles, while the display provides cleaning and machine feedback.

Suitable Surfaces
Use the main cleaner head for carpets and hard floors. Use the supplied smaller tools for upholstery, stairs, edges and narrow spaces, following the care instructions for the surface being cleaned. This is the dry-cleaning Piston Animal model, not the Submarine wet-and-dry model; it does not wash floors.
Safety & Care
- Use for dry household cleaning only. Do not collect water or other liquids.
- Switch off before clearing blockages, changing tools or carrying out maintenance.
- Use the supplied Dyson charger and follow the machine’s instructions for charging and storage.
- Empty the bin and clean the cleaner head as directed in the user manual.
- Follow the supplied manual for filter cleaning and drying; do not refit a damp filter.
